Ruggell, April 22, 2025 – RM Equity Partners (RMEP), a leading European investor in digital businesses, has acquired a majority stake in Carista. The popular mobile platform enables car owners to unlock hidden features and personalize their vehicles with dealership-level control.
Carista stands out in the connected mobility space by offering everyday drivers the ability to customize settings in their vehicles that are typically only available through specialized garage equipment. From adjusting lighting behavior to enabling convenience features, Carista empowers users to tailor their driving experience without needing technical expertise.
Founded in 2013 by Todor Kalaydjiev, Carista has built a loyal global user base with its intuitive interface and strong brand reputation among drivers of brands like Audi, BMW, Ford, Volkswagen, and Toyota. The app combines easy-to-use mobile software with a plug-in OBD adapter, offering a subscription-based model with ongoing updates and support.
As part of the transaction, RMEP has acquired a majority interest in Carista, while Todor remains both a minority shareholder and the CEO. This structure ensures continuity and further development of the platform under its original leadership, supported by RMEP’s operational resources and pan-European network.
